Specificity Information
Specificity This antibody reacts with GMP-140 (P- selectin) on activated human platelets; it does not react with resting platelets. It does not interfere with platelet aggregation or platelet adhesion. It does not cross-react with rabbit, rat, porcine, or canine activated platelets.
Target Name P-selectin
Target ID Platelet GMP-140 (P-selectin/CD62)
Uniprot ID P16109
Alternative Names CD62 antigen-like family member P, Granule membrane protein 140, GMP-140, Leukocyte-endothelial cell adhesion molecule 3, LECAM3, Platelet activation dependent granule-external membrane protein, PADGEM, CD antigen CD62P
Gene Name SELP
Sequence Location Cell membrane, Single-pass type I membrane protein
Biological Function Ca(2+)-dependent receptor for myeloid cells that binds to carbohydrates on neutrophils and monocytes. Mediates the interaction of activated endothelial cells or platelets with leukocytes. The ligand rPubMed:11081633, PubMed:28011641, PubMed:7585950}.
