Research Areas Hormones/Proteins
Background Asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) is a naturally occurring chemical found in blood plasma. It is a metabolic by- product of continual protein modification processes in the cytoplasm of all human cells. It is closely related to L-arginine. ADMA interferes with L-arginine in the production of nitric oxide, a key chemical involved in normal endothelial function and, by extension, cardio- vascular health. Since raised levels of ADMA appear to be associated with adverse human health consequences for cardiovascular disease, metabolic diseases, and also a wide range of diseases of the elderly, the possible lowering of ADMA levels may have important therapeutic effects.
Handling
Storage This product is stable for at least one (1) year at -20°C to -70°C. Reconstituted product should be stored in appropriate aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Dilution Instructions Reconstitute lyophilized antibody using ultrapure to a final concentration no less than 100 ug/mL. Reconstitution with PBS or Tris buffer is acceptable if required. Protein carrier, biocide or cryopreservative can be added as needed. Aliquot and store at -20C for longterm storage. Dilute immediately prior to use.
Application Instructions Immunoblotting: use at 1-2ug/ml
Immunohistochemistry: use at 1-10ug/ml.
These are recommended concentrations.
End user should determine optimal concentrations for their applications.
