Specificity Information
Specificity This antibody recognizes an epitope at the C-terminus of human TCCR (T Cell Cytokine Receptor), a member of the type I cytokine receptor family. TCCR deficient mice have impaired responses of T helper cells (Th1) to protein antigens including decreased levels of IFN-g and Th1-dependent antibody production. TCCR is predominantly expressed in thymus, spleen, lymph nodes, and peripheral blood lymphocytes.
Target Name Interleukin-27 receptor subunitα
Target ID T-Cell Cytokine Receptor (TCCR) (CT)
Uniprot ID Q6UWB1
Alternative Names IL-27 receptor subunitα, IL-27R subunitα, IL-27R-α, IL-27RA, Cytokine receptor WSX-1, Cytokine receptor-like 1, Type I T-cell cytokine receptor, TCCR, ZcytoR1
Gene Name IL27RA
Sequence Location Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.
Biological Function Receptor for IL27. Requires IL6ST/GP130 to mediate signal transduction in response to IL27. This signaling system acts through STAT3 and STAT1. Acts as a receptor for the neuroprotective peptide humanin as part of a complex with IL6ST/GP130 and CNTFR (PubMed:19386761). Involved in the regulation of Th1-type immune responses. Also appears to be involved in innate defense mechanisms. {PubMed:14764690, PubMed:19386761}.
Research Areas Growth Factors, Cytokines, Receptors
