Background HspH1 is a member of the mammalian Hsp105/110 family, a subgroup of the Hsp70 family. Two isoforms of HspH1, alpha and beta, have been identified. HspH1 associates with Hsp70/Hsc70 as complexes and negatively regulates the chaperone activity of Hsp70/Hsc70 in vivo and in vitro. HspH1 is highly expressed in many human tumors.

Biological Function Acts as a nucleotide-exchange factor (NEF) for chaperone proteins HSPA1A and HSPA1B, promoting the release of ADP from HSPA1A/B thereby triggering client/substrate protein release (PubMed:24318877). Prevents the aggregation of denatured proteins in cells under severe stress, on which the ATP levels decrease markedly. Inhibits HSPA8/HSC70 ATPase and chaperone activities (By similarity). {UniProtKB:Q60446, UniProtKB:Q61699, PubMed:24318877}.

Handling
Storage Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store at or below - 20°C for longer periods of time. Addition of a carrier protein (such as 0.1% HSA or BSA) is recommended for long-term storage.
Dilution Instructions Dilute in PBS or medium that is identical to that used in the assay system.
