Specificity Information
Specificity This antibody recognizes human Rad50, a 153 kD protein involved in DNA double strand break repair. Rad50 is associated with Mre11 and p95 (Nibrin) to form a multiprotein complex. Following DNA damage, Rad50 and Mre11 redistribute and are co-localized within the nucleus of damaged cells.
Target Name DNA repair protein RAD50
Target ID Rad50
Uniprot ID Q92878
Alternative Names hRAD50, EC 3.6.-.-
Gene Name RAD50
Sequence Location Nucleus, Chromosome, telomere, Chromosome
Biological Function Component of the MRN complex, which plays a central role in double-strand break (DSB) repair, DNA rPubMed:10888888, PubMed:11741547, PubMed:15064416, PubMed:9590181, PubMed:9651580, PubMed:9705271}.
