Specificity Information
Specificity This antibody recognizes mouse PAPK. Sequence homology with human PAPK is 60%.
Target Name STE20-related kinase adapter protein β
Target ID PAPK
Uniprot ID Q8K4T3
Alternative Names STRAD β, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis 2 chromosomal region candidate gene 2 protein homolog, ILP-interacting protein homolog, Polyploidy-associated protein kinase, Pseudokinase ALS2CR2
Gene Name Stradb
Sequence Location Nucleus. Cytoplasm.
Biological Function Pseudokinase which, in complex with CAB39/MO25 (CAB39/MO25alpha or CAB39L/MO25beta), binds to and activates STK11/LKB1. Adopts a closed conformation typical of active protein kinases and binds STK11/LKB1 as a pseudosubstrate, promoting conformational change of STK11/LKB1 in an active conformation (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}.
Research Areas Neuroscience
Background PAPK (polyploidy-associated protein kinase) is a new member of the Ste20/germinal center kinase family that modulates cytoskeletal organization and cell survival. Activation of a death signal transduction pathway may result in the stimulation of the PAPK promoter which leads to increased PAPK expression and provides a negative feedback signal that prevents cell death. Another name for this protein is ALS2CR2 (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis 2 chromosome region candidate 2, isoform A).
Handling
Storage This antibody is stable for at least one (1) year at -20°C. Avoid multiple freeze- thaw cycles.
Dilution Instructions Dilute in PBS or medium that is identical to that used in the assay system.
Application Instructions Immunoblotting: use at 1:250 dilution. A band of approximately 46-47 kDa is detected.
Positive control: liver tissue lysate.
Positive control: liver tissue lysate.
