Research Areas Heat Shock& Stress Proteins
Background The Hsp70 family includes four highly conserved proteins (Hsp70, Hsc70, Grp75, and Grp78) which function as molecular chaperones, in translocation of polypeptides across cell membranes and to cell nuclei, and in proper folding of nascent polypeptide chains. Sorting of proteins by the Hsp70 family relies on a C-terminal tetrapeptide signal, usually KDEL in animal cells, and HDEL in S. cerevisiae.
Handling
Storage This antibody is stable for at least one (1) year at -20°C.
Dilution Instructions Dilute in PBS or medium which is identical to that used in the assay system.
Application Instructions Immunoblotting: use at 0.5-1ug/ml. A band of ~70 kDa is detected.
Immunofluorescence: use at 0.2-2ug/ml.
These are recommended concentrations. User should determine optimal concentrations for their application.
Positive control: S. cerevisiae lysate.
