Research Areas Phosphospecific Antibodies
Background CREB (cAMP response element-binding protein) is a cellular transcription factor. It binds to certain DNA sequences called cAMP response elements (CRE), thereby increasing or decreasing the transcription of the downstream genes. Genes whose transcription is regulated by CREB include: c-fos, BDNF, tyrosine hydroxylase, numerous neuropeptides (such as somatostatin, enkephalin, VGF, corticotropin-releasing hormone), and genes involved in the mammalian circadian clock (PER1, PER2).
Handling
Storage This antibody is stable for at least one (1) year at -20°C.
Dilution Instructions Dilute in PBS or medium that is identical to that used in the assay system.
Application Instructions Western blotting: use at dilution of 1:500- 1:1,000. A band of ~43kDa is detected.
Immunohistochemistry: use at dilution of 1:50- 1:100.
These are recommended working dilutions.
End user should determine optimal dilutions for their applications.
