Biological Function Cytokine that binds to TNFRSF13B/TACI and to TNFRSF17/BCMA. Plays a role in the regulation of tumor cell growth. May be involved in monocyte/macrophage-mediated immunological processes. {PubMed:10973284}.
Research Areas Growth Factors, Cytokines, Receptors
Background APRIL (A Proliferation-Inducing Ligand) is a member of the TNF superfamily identified in human and mouse. Two receptors for APRIL have been designated TACI and BCMA. APRIL stimulates B and T cell proliferation, triggers humoral immune responses, activates NF-kB, and induces cell death. APRIL and its receptors BCMA and TACI are involved in autoimmunity and cancer.
Application Images
Description Western blot analysis of APRIL expression in Jurkat cells with APRIL antibody at 1 ug/mL (A), 2 ug/mL (B), and 4 ug/mL (C).
Description Immunohistochemistry of APRIL in human prostate tissue with APRIL antibody at 10 ug/mL.
Handling
Storage This antibody is stable for three months at 4°C and at least one year at -20°C. Store in appropriate aliquots to avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
Dilution Instructions Dilute in PBS or medium that is identical to that used in the assay system.
Application Instructions Immunoblotting: use at 1-4 ug/mL. A band of ~27kDa is detected.
Immunohistochemistry: use at 10ug/mL.
Immunohistochemistry: use at 10ug/mL.
