Specificity Information
Specificity This antibody recognizes human CRTH2 (Chemoattractant Receptor Homologous molecule), a member of the G protein-coupled leukocyte chemoattractant receptor family. CRTH2 is expressed by Th2, but not Th1 cells, in response to activators such as allergens.
Target Name Prostaglandin D2 receptor 2
Target ID Chemoattractant Receptor Homologus molecule (CRTH2)
Uniprot ID Q9Y5Y4
Alternative Names Chemoattractant receptor-homologous molecule expressed on Th2 cells, G-protein coupled receptor 44, CD antigen CD294
Gene Name PTGDR2
Sequence Location Cell membrane
Biological Function Receptor for prostaglandin D2 (PGD2). Coupled to the G(i)-protein. Receptor activation may result in pertussis toxin-sensitive decreases in cAMP levels and Ca(2+) mobilization. PI3K signaling is also implicated in mediating PTGDR2 effects. PGD2 induced receptor internalization. CRTH2 internalization can be regulated by diverse kinases such as, PKC, PKA, GRK2, GPRK5/GRK5 and GRK6. Receptor activation is responsible, at least in part, in immune regulation and allergic/inflammation responses. {PubMed:11208866, PubMed:11535533, PubMed:17196174}.
Research Areas Growth Factors, Cytokines, Receptors
Handling
Storage This antibody is stable for at least one (1) year at -20°C. Avoid multiple freeze- thaw cycles.
Dilution Instructions Dilute in PBS or medium that is identical to that used in the assay system.
Application Instructions Immunoblotting: use at 1:500-1:1,000 dilution. In immunoblots, a band of approximately 55-70 kD is detected.
